A contemporary, comfortable, upscale performance venue, located conveniently in a quaint and beautifully scenic seaside village. 👏 What's equally important and even more impressive, the wonderful, artful direction and dazzling, highly skilled talent, creates a superb professional production quality and truly memorable theatre experience!

I have been going to Gloucester Stage for about 40 years. Subscribed this year for 1st time. Spent many hours on the phone, after subscribing and choosing dates and seats, needing to redo the entire process. Went to 1st play and someone on staff had "switched" seats I had chosen, given our seats to someone else and put us in less desirable seats. (No tickets given out this year, email or otherwise, which was part of the problem). We received an apology, but nothing else. I have written and called managing director to try to get assurances this won't happen again this season. No response. This is extremely disappointing for a theater that used to be well run. First play was just fair. All in all disappointing, as we drive at least an hour 15 minutes in each direction. Unlikely, I'll subscribe again. Unsure if I'll go again, after this year. Makes me sad.

Great experience and from what I can see not a bad seat in the house. We look forward to seeing a future production.

Great performances and interesting play. REQUIREMENT to wear mask is irritating and nonsensical. If I do not need a mask in church or at a movie and those who feel vulnerable trust an N95 mask, then it is logical to make masks OPTIONAL for all attendees. NY's Broadway and Boston theaters do not require masks. Gloucester should follow suit.

This was my first visit to the Gloucester Stage Company and I was not disappointed! The production, The Thin Place was outstanding!! Top notch actors!! The Theatre is wonderful with an intimate yet spacious setting. The lobby is wonderful and has multiple tables as well as bench seating with a refreshment bar that offers light snacks and a variety of small but nice selection of beer and wine as well as coffee, tea and soda. I will definitely be returning. Parking can be a slight problem but I arrived early and found parking on the street close to the theatre.

I just discovered the Gloucester Stage as I was looking for things to do in the North Shore and came upon ‘The Thin Place’ playing this evening. I purchased my ticket on line and made sure to look for any “mask requirements” and nothing stated that masks are required. Anyhow, the first thing I hear as I arrived was “the show is 90 minutes long and masks are required while in the theatre spoken by a lovely woman greeting folks at the desk. As I approached her to check in, I expressed to her that I didn’t realize that masks are required. She then said, “Yes and you should’ve received an email confirmation with your ticket purchase stating that masks are required.” I checked my email and nothing! No statement in regards to masks are required. If I had known beforehand that I had to wear a mask during the show, I would’ve not purchased a ticket. It is deceiving to not state their masks requirements and no refunds on ticket. The show will start in a couple minutes and hope that making the trip here will have been worth it. The lady at the concession was nice. I bought a yummy brownie! :)
